Focus of this section
Linguistics and philology brings together leading figures in the description, analysis and theoretical modelling of language structure, history and use. The focus ranges from language in general to individual languages and language families, often applying mathematical and digital techniques, and encompasses the investigation of language acquisition, pathology and evolution. The research of Fellows in this Section involves a broad range of interdisciplinary perspectives – among others, psychological, sociological, anthropological, neurological, computational, philosophical, literary and educational.
