This section brings together Fellows who specialise in early modern history, to 1850.

Focus of this section

Our section is home to all areas of historical studies dealing with the period between 1500 and 1850, which is often referred to as the early modern period. Fellows' interests range over all geographical areas and all varieties of historical enquiry. Among our Fellows there are specialists in the history of many regions – including Britain and Ireland, continental Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. Our Fellows work on subjects in the history of art, culture, science, religion, political thought and philosophy and include specialists in the history of economy, society and politics.
