Every year we throw open our doors for the British Academy’s annual Summer Showcase, a free festival of ideas for curious minds. Meet the thinkers shaping our world through their pioneering social sciences and humanities research.
Taking place throughout our home in 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, a Nash-designed, Grade I-listed building, overlooking the Mall and St James's Park.
The British Academy Summer Showcase 2024 will take place from 12-13 July.

The British Academy Summer Showcase
Join us for the Summer Showcase, the British Academy’s annual free festival of ideas. The programme will feature leading thinkers, researchers and artists, showcasing the best of the best of the humanities and social sciences.

Meet the thinkers shaping our world through their pioneering social sciences and humanities research via our programme of engaging panel discussions, roundtables, pop-up talks, performances, workshops and film screenings.
2022
The British Academy Summer Showcase
We were thrilled to open our doors once again for the first in-person Summer Showcase since 2019. Alongside a programme of talks, workshops and performances, 12 of our researchers brought their work to life – from livestreamed global connections and an immersive VR experience to calligraphy workshops and a conspiracy kitchen.

The British Academy Summer Showcase
Our free week-long festival in June 2021 featured online talks, discussion and demonstrations, plus self-guided audio walks. The online events are available to watch on our YouTube channel.
