In the former home of William Gladstone, Phyllis Weliver draws from her forthcoming book Mary Gladstone and the Victorian Salon, 1876-1883: Music, Literature, Liberalism to talk about Gladstone’s daughter and her circle, revealing how she acted as a leader in the musical community, in literature and, in the process, assisted political aspects of her father's work.
