International Policy Adviser

The British Academy is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to the post of International Programmes Adviser.

The successful candidate will support the Academy’s international team in the development and delivery of the Academy’s international activities, with specific responsibility for managing discrete projects and associated programmes related to the Academy’s European and EU engagement as well as Just Transitions and Net Zero.

We are seeking a candidate who can develop and deliver a wide range of activities and have experience engaging with European partners. They will join a highly dynamic and motivated team, and as such, will be expected to perform effectively under pressure, often balancing conflicting priorities, and using tact and diplomacy when dealing with a variety of stakeholders in the UK and internationally. They should be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a proactive and flexible attitude, and meticulous attention to detail.

The successful candidate will undertake scoping research and analysis, liaise with policy and research stakeholders in the UK and internationally to ensure the effective use of expertise and engagement necessary for the delivery of activities, and take a lead role in preparing statements, consultation responses and briefings. They will manage specific project budgets and work with colleagues to proactively identify and maximise the impact of existing and potential synergies across various activities.
